Abstract
To investigate the effect of WK?101 on the development of mouse early embryo, two-cell embryos were cultured for 72 hours in the medium containing various concentrations of WK?101 and Acetaldehyde, the number of embryos developed to blastula were examined
The following results were obtained.
1. Acetaldehyde decreased the number of embryos developed from two- cells to blastocysts, does?dependently.
2. In the case of the WK?101 end Acetaldehyde simultaneously treated group, embryos developed to blastocysts were more increased than those of Acetaldehyde only treated group.
3. When two-cell embryos were treated with Acetaldehyde first and treated with WK-101 later, the developmental rate of embryos differentiated to blastocysts was generally higher than that of embryos treated with Acetaldehyde only.
4. In all experimental groups exposed to the WK?101 for 24 hours and then transferred to Acetaldehyde, the developmental rate of embryos was higher than that of ¢¥embryos exposed to the Acetaldehyde only.
In comparing the Acetaldehyde treated group exposed to the WK ? 101 first with the WK?101 treated group exposed to the Acetaldehyde firs¢¥. The former was more increased than the latter in the developmental rate of embryos to the blastocysts, according as the concentration of Acetaldehyde increased.
From the above results it is suggested that the WK?101 might be effective increasing the developmental rate of embryonal cells damaged by acetaldehyde in the development of mouse early embryo.
